Hi everyone!

Today, I’m so excited to share a very special place I recently discovered in the Gwangjang-dong neighborhood.

It’s called “Armstrong’s Moon”—doesn’t the name itself sound so romantic? Just when I was getting tired of the noisy, crowded big-brand coffee chains, I stumbled upon this gem.

This is what makes Armstrong’s Moon a must-visit for coffee lovers.

If you’ve been craving a cup of coffee crafted with genuine care and soul, this is it. Here is my honest review of this cozy local spot!

For the true connoisseur. Discover the art of masterful roasting and artisanal brews.

1. The Vibe of Armstrong’s Moon Coffee

The moment I stepped inside, the rich, nutty aroma of freshly roasted beans greeted me.

Right in the middle of the cafe sits a massive roasting machine—it’s quite the centerpiece! Looking at the charming vintage decor and the stacks of burlap coffee sacks, I immediately knew: “This place is the real deal.”

It has that cozy, “locals-only” hideaway vibe. It’s the perfect spot to bring a book for some “me time” or to have a deep catch-up with a close friend.

Note: The space is intimate with about 3 tables. If you choose to dine in, there is a small surcharge of 500 KRW, as many regulars prefer to grab their coffee to go.

2. Serious About Coffee: The Surprising Twist of Decaf

I know a lot of us are reaching for decaf these days for health reasons, right?

I decided to try their decaf during this visit. At first sip, I honestly thought, “Oh, is this a bit too light?”

But boy, was I wrong. The more I drank, the more the complexity revealed itself. The aftertaste was incredibly clean and sophisticated—it took me by surprise!

It didn’t taste forced or artificial; instead, it allowed the natural notes of the beans to shine through. I finished every last drop. It wasn’t “light”—it was “velvety smooth.” I was totally sold!

3. Not Your Average Milk Tea: Rooibos Vanilla Bliss

For those who aren’t in the mood for caffeine, I cannot recommend the Rooibos Vanilla Milk Tea enough.

Most cafe milk teas are way too sugary and leave you feeling heavy, but this was a total game-changer.

They’ve dialed back the sweetness and let the fragrant, rich vanilla bean aroma take center stage. The earthy notes of rooibos blended with the creamy milk felt like a warm hug in a cup. It’s sophisticated, healthy, and absolutely hits the spot for someone looking for a refined treat.

4. Roasting Classes & Fresh Beans

I noticed a sign for Roasting Classes in the corner. The owner has 16 years of expertise, and you can really feel that pro energy. If you’ve ever wanted to dive deeper into the world of coffee, learning from a master like this would be an incredible experience.

They also sell freshly roasted beans and drip bags. I couldn’t resist picking up a few on my way out—they’d make such a thoughtful gift for any coffee lover!

5. Pro-Tips for Your Visit

Final Thoughts…

It’s not flashy or pretentious, but Armstrong’s Moon is a place where the owner’s passion and dedication truly shine. If you actually care about the quality of your coffee, you’re going to love it here.

I’m already planning my next trip back for another fragrant cup of that vanilla milk tea!

Why not treat yourself to a little “pause” in your busy day with a beautiful cup of tea or coffee? You deserve it.
